SUMMARY:Rapid Response Minigrant
DESCRIPTION:The Mississippi Arts Commission will begin accepting applications for a new Rapid Response Minigrant on November 16. Nonprofit organizations\, units of local government\, schools\, libraries\, and other county and municipal agencies are eligible to apply for up to $1\,000 in funding for a variety of arts-based projects. \n\n\n\nWith a MAC Minigrant for Organizations\, eligible organizations can:\n\n- Hire a MAC Roster Artist to present a performance\, workshop\, demonstration\, or other presentation\; create public art in your community\; or develop arts curriculum. \n\n\n\n- Adapt arts programming to virtual or distanced formats such as hosting an online arts workshop\, children's arts activity or arts education workshop\; creating a podcast\, web series or stream for a concert or performance\; developing a virtual museum/gallery/exhibit/community art tour\; interviewing and broadcasting interviews of musicians and other artists. \n\n\n\n- Hire a professional consultant for a short-term consultancy focused on organizational development such as long range strategic or fundraising planning\, diversity training\, ADA compliance and accessibility trainings\, arts related emergency preparation\, focus group training for artists and stakeholders\, curriculum development in a K-12 school. \n\n\n\n- Support staff or board members arts related professional development including registration\, travel\, and accommodations for in-person conferences or registration for online professional development. \n\n\n\nThe Mississippi Arts Commission prioritizes applications which serve underserved individuals or groups\, including those residing in high-poverty or rural areas\, organizations led by or serving people of color\, those with disabilities\, veterans and other typically underserved communities. \n\n\n\nYou can reach MAC's office at 601-359-6030 or email info@arts.ms.gov. \n\n\n\nThe deadline to apply for this round of funding is December 4 by 11:59 p.m. Apply online at www.arts.ms.gov/apply.
