Operations & Marketing Manager
Rankin First is seeking a dynamic Operations and Marketing Manager to support the operations of Rankin First. Rankin First is the lead economic development entity for Rankin County, Mississippi and works with existing businesses across the County and in the recruitment of new companies to grow the Rankin County economy. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a passion for daily business operations, community growth, and marketing support. You'll directly contribute to strengthening our local economy by supporting the daily functions of our organization and amplifying our marketing efforts, helping us both nurture existing businesses and attract new investments to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Daily management of organizational budgets, processing invoices, payroll support, and managing financial records in coordination with organizational leaders. Proficiency in Quickbooks is highly preferred.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Rankin First office. Assist with the coordination of meetings, site visit preparation, reoccurring meeting coordination, and coordination with stakeholders, government agencies, investors, and other partners.
- Maintain and manage critical economic development databases, including business inquiries, site information, demographic statistics, key stakeholder lists, and project reports. Generate reports for leadership, board members, and stakeholders, as needed.
- Manage event planning and promotion for economic development and organizational events.
- Oversee the internal management of annual audit in coordination with qualified CPA.
- Routine financial account reconciliation.
Marketing Support
- Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns that drive business attraction, retention, and overall economic development.
- Support the design and updating of marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, websites, and social media content with consistent messaging.
- Support the development of digital and print materials such as newsletters, press releases, website copy, social media posts and brochures for both internal and external stakeholders.
Research & Data Analysis
- Conduct research on industry trends.
- Support media tracking.
- Develop data-driven reports and presentations for stakeholders and leadership.
- Maintain sites/buildings databases.
- Utilize tools like Excel and GIS to analyze and visualize data.
- Maintain records and databases, including CRM tools.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support communication efforts with key stakeholders, including local businesses, government agencies, community organizations and potential investors.
- As needed, attend meetings and events to represent the Rankin First Economic Development Authority.
Administrative Tasks
- Provide project coordination and logistical support for all Rankin First events, meetings, and projects.
- Assist in monthly board related duties – sending email notices, preparing agendas, drafting meeting minutes, prepping meeting material, and meeting preparation, etc.
- Perform administrative tasks such as drafting letters, assisting with projects and updating informational files and records, and databases as assigned.
- Assist with general staff support and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, marketing, business or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business operations, financial operations, or marketing.
- Strong proficiency in financial tools (Quickbooks, payroll systems, etc.)
- Proficiency in marketing tools (Google Analytics, SEO, SEM, email marketing, Adobe Creative Cloud suite, etc.).
- Knowledge of economic development principles and local government operations.
- Strong organizational management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
